How Do These Dab Pens Work?
Some of our customers are brand new to Wax vaporizer pens which is why we like to take the time to explain the basics. By having a basic understanding of how wax/dab vape pens work, it helps you become a more educated shopper.
Waxy dab pens are typically all going to work in the same way. For the most part, there are only a few components involved in the construction of a basic pen for dabs. Let’s go through the basic components of a typical vape pen.
A battery is the most obvious part of any electronic dab pen. It’s typically the biggest part of any pen and weighs the most out of all the other components. Most vape pens for wax use a lithium battery of some sort which is compact and can hold a charge for a long time.
Secondly, most vape pens are designed with some sort of heating coil that is either inside of or below the concentrate container. The concentrate container typically needs to be pre-loaded with concentrate before turning on the device. Some pens have modular tanks with quartz bowls and heating elements combined into them but more basic pens usually do not have options for upgrades. If you do get a pen that can handle upgrades, consider the Extreme Wax Atomizer for bigger and better flavor!
The third part of most dab pens is the tank or container that houses the heating element and concentrate container (aka bowl). The tank usually creates a shaft for airflow that can be used to take the “hit”. Once the device is loaded with concentrate and then powered on, the concentrate begins to heat up to around 375 to 450 degrees and in a few moments its ready for a puff.
