Would the Mesh give you more room than other 24 mm postless decks? (Liked it specifically for mesh builds.) Is postless best for the build we’re envisioning? The Transformer’s only 22 mm, but the arrangement above frees space.

As @2clicker points out, keeping the atomizer vertical could be an issue.

So little info on sourcevapes.com. Did you find the diameter of the atomizer the glass piece fits? What do you think the advantage over the SOURCEvapes atomizer would be? A wire coil around might heat the insert more rapidly than a ceramic donut below (if that’s what’s used). Could be desirable. Need to buy the atomizer anyway, so you’d find out.

Here is the video with the cup coil I was referring to and that the glass or titanium insert nail could be put into:

Yes, the Mesh RDA would give you a ton more room than other post rda’s and I believe this extra space is absolutely needed to make this work. I don’t think the vertical atomizer will have any issues either.

I emailed Vandy Vape for the diameter of the mesh RDA and will update on if we can marry the sourcevapes bubbler with the rda from Vandy Vape. If we could that would be clutch.

For me, the advantage over the usual Source Vape setup is the cost. I could just use regular 316 wire instead of buying their proprietary atomizer. You’re not locked in to buying from them. Also, yes, wrapping the coil around will dramatically heatup the insert quicker.

I saw someone post somewhere about buying those vaporsource inserts (or something similar), but I can’t for the love of me figure out where that was.

  • I switched the the Rafale X for build deck size, since i found one for 10$. Waaay better than evil monk, but it did not fit my Pico so I needed to get a new battery too.

A quick update on what I think is the best coil. It is the simplest to make, I made it and installed it in less than 5 minutes with a coil jig. What you people want to be making is a 4mm, 12-20 wrap, contact-coil made with 20 gauge SS316L wire. It has no nooks or crannies like a complex twisted wire build would, but has the same or more surface area and mass because the thick wire. Nothing leaks, drips, or spits, and you can finish globs in one breath. Clocks in at .43Ω with 16 wraps so it could be smaller or bigger depending on battery life and how big of a hit you need.

As long as you have wound it really tight, the oil just sits inside the cylinder when it vapes. I feel like this heats the oil more evenly than claptons or twisted wires do, and self cleans more fully with a dry burn. There is a lot less space for gunk to get caught up in the coil, and a glow then dip in water gets it looking almost like new. The Rafale X is perfect for this build because the airflow comes from the openings of the coil. This pushes the oil up and to the middle of the coil as you draw. Just put ur blobs inside the coil and are set. This 16 wrap can easily vape 80mg in one hit with no leak. You could fit up to a 20 wrap in the rafale x easily to vape over a .1 of oil in one dab. This is a killer set up at 30-40 watts.

Note how clean the deck below is, this is after running probably a half gram through it since the last cleaning. Because the oil vaporizes inside a long cylinder there is virtually no splatter on any of the mouthpiece or deck. All in the lungs!

Stove-Top Coil for Dabs on the Go!

So I always wanted to build something nicer to use for dabing (what I call using bho, shatter, wax, butter) all the concentrates basically. Something I could take with me to use discrete and powerfully. So here it is:

Stove Top Coil which I wound myself (I used this over a sick because it allows you to put more concentrate)

I’m using a Eleaf 50 watt, but I also use it on a K100 empire clone. basically you can use what you prefer

Here is what it looks like with a little concentrate on it. I roll them up in little balls, keep them in a tiny pill case. Anytime I need them pop one on the stove and boom you have a big hit! Super fast and if you want to discretely.

Here’s where a lot of people have issues, many of which I have thwarted. When you use the stove top coil since it doesn’t have a wick you need to make sure the wattage is high enough to melt the product but not so high that it burns it.
There are two spectrums: One spectrum is when you keep the wattage so low that the concentrate only burns about 60% of the way and leaves this goopy leftover. The lower the temp the better the flavor but the more waste aka goop. The other spectrum uses higher temps that produce stronger hits, and bigger coughs– the trade off is less favor and very easy to get that burnt flavor. So I use mine between 10.0-11.5 depending on what I’m using

Hope this was helpful let me know if you have any questions.
