Boost eRig by Dr. Dabber Designed For Dabbing Concentrates On The Go
The Dr. Dabber Boost eRig uses a glass water filtration system in an attempt to replicate the dabbing experience, but does it really provide the same experience as a much more expensive stationary eRig or traditional glass rig setup? Not exactly… but the Boost does get the job done and will only set you back $149.95 — a steal compared to investing in the pricier alternatives on the market. It is ideal for people who are social with their medicating experience, people who constantly find themselves on the go, and obviously people that prefer dabbing concentrates to smoking/vaping dried herbs.
Made Specifically for Oils and Waxes, Not Dry Herbs
According to the company’s website, “the Dr. Dabber Boost is the first portable, battery-powered dab rig for essential oils.” The device heats to an optimal temperature for vaporizing concentrates with a simple button press, making it one of the easiest dabbing solutions available. No torch is required to take dabs with this unit. Instead, the Boost employs a domeless nail much like you would see in traditional glass dab rigs. The device is cordless (the nail is heated by a battery) and it comes with a durable carrying case that makes it easy to take with you on any trip.

How to Use the Boost eRig
Once you turn on the Boost, the nail will begin to heat up and become extremely hot. Do not touch the nail once powered on — it will burn you. I repeat, it will burn you.
It seems obvious to me, but I think it is worth noting that you should not attempt to use the device without the glass attachment in place. Not only does this protect you from accidentally touching the hot nail in those times you have a lapse of judgment, but it will also prevent any “splash” from the oil/wax from popping up into your face. This seems to happen when concentrates have trace amounts of liquid left in them — the heat from the nail could cause the oil/wax to essentially jump off the nail because… you know… chemistry.
The base is included to ensure proper weight distribution and to avoid damage to the glass attachment. Do not attempt to place the device down on a surface without the base. If you get brave or lazy and avoid using it, chances are your glass piece will end up toppling over and breaking. I’ve personally broken a few different glass units that utilize similar glass attachments, so hopefully others reading this can avoid similar pains that I’ve felt in the past. It just seems that no matter how careful you are, trying to balance glass on its own without a base is a flawed strategy that you’ll want to avoid.
The Boost eRig comes with three different type of nails for your preference: Titanium, Ceramic, and Quartz.
Press the power button 3 times to heat the titanium nail. The unit will begin with white light and change to blue light after 25 seconds indicating it is ready to use (nail will continue heating for 20 seconds before cutoff).
- Temperature reaches 515°F after 25 seconds
- Temperature reaches 610°F after 45 seconds
Press the power button 5 times to heat the ceramic nail. The unit will begin with blue light and change to white light after 40 seconds indicating it is ready to use (nail will continue heating for 20 seconds before cutoff)
- Temperature reaches 520°F after 40 seconds
- Temperature reaches 600°F after 60 seconds
No matter what nail you use, do not heat the device more than 3 cycles continuously to avoid bodily harm or injury.
Maintenance Tips & Tricks
Changing between the different nails provided with the Boost is easy and straightforward — simply turn the nail clockwise to tighten, and counter-clockwise to loosen. Again… DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE NAIL WHEN HOT. Also, you’ll want to avoid touching the ceramic rod as it may damage the heating element.
Cleaning the Glass Attachment
To clean the glass attachment after it gets dirty (trust me, it will get dirty), first remove the glass attachment from the eRig. Next, slowly pour 99% isopropyl alcohol into the mouthpiece until the unit is about 1/4 full and shake the attachment gently until clean. To rinse out the alcohol, pour water into the top (mouthpiece) until all alcohol is flushed out of the bottom of the attachment. To remove all water from device, blow through mouthpiece and shake gently.
Charging the Boost
Before using the boost, you’ll want to make sure the battery is fully charged. When the battery on your Boost eRig is low, both the white light and the blue light will flash 8 times. You’ll want to connect your device to the provided charger. The power button LED will turn purple when the device is being charged. A green light indicates charging is complete.
No Questions Asked 1-Year Warranty
The “no questions asked” warranty on the Boost covers the battery, charger, and all electrical components for one year. Glass is not covered under warranty (for reasons mentioned above). If you have a warranty issue, just email the company and they will assess your case. If the component cannot be fixed, they claim on their website that they will initiate the replacement/return process.

The Dr Dabber Boost is a portable solution for your concentrate vaporization needs. It uses a titanium domeless nail much like you would see in a traditional glass rig setup. A water filtration system provides for thick hits of water-cooled vapour.
