Need toilet paper? This metro Detroit company is giving it away for free

TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A metro Detroit restoration company is hoping to wipe away your worries by hosting a toilet paper giveaway.

John and Al David, owners of Troy-based Emergency Restoration, will host the giveaway Thursday, March 26 at noon on 1401 E 14 Mile Rd in Troy.

Emergency Restoration plans to give away 2,400 individually wrapped rolls of toilet paper to the public.

There’s a two-rolls per person limit.

A drive-through station will be set up in the parking lot and staff will be in protective masks and gloves to pass out the toilet paper and ensure the safety of everyone, the company says.

“This is a small thing we are doing, but now more than ever, we need to look out for our neighbors and help any way we can,” said John David, President of Emergency Restoration.

The giveaway is comes after an apparent nationwide toilet paper shortage amid worry over the coronavirus pandemic. There’s even a Facebook group where Michiganders report outrageous price-gouging on cleaning products, including toilet paper.
