Pax 3 vs Mighty Comparison: Who Wins?
In recent posts, we’ve shared a list of the best dry herb portable vaporizers. At the top of that, there was Pax 3 and Mighty which were rated as the best vapes.
These two premium vaporizers always have people stuck on deciding which one is better. Which one will let you taste your bud to the fullest? Which one has better vapor quality and airflow for seeing those big clouds?
The 3 main things to look for in a vaporizer, is convenience, vapor experience, and durability.
This guide will give you an honest comparison of the pax 3 vs mighty. It compares them side by side and gives you the ultimate breakdown. This is going to be a ride so sit back, relax, and discover which vaporizer is the winner to help you choose one.
What Will I Find Out?
What comes in the box?
When you buy the Mighty it’s a complete kit. It has all the accessories for using the vaporizer for both dry herb and concentrates. It also includes:
- 110V power adapter
- Herb mill
- Dosing capsules
- Drip pad
- Seal rings
- Cleaning brush
Pax 3 has a few options. You can get the device only or you can get the complete kit. If you go with the device only, it comes with:
- 2 mouthpieces
- Maintenance kit with a wire brush and pipe cleaners
The complete kit comes with:
- Half pack oven lid
- Concentrate insert
- A tool for packing and unpacking
- 3 oven screens
Design and Features
The mighty vaporizer is made by the same company as the famous Volcano desktop vaporizer, Storz & Bickel. Their products are of high quality and always carry a premium price tag.
Don’t let the hard plastic fool you. It’s designed to last a very long time. On top of that, the housing has been designed in a way that keeps the Mighty cool at all times.
Another design feature is the mouthpiece. It can be folded when not in use and extended back out when you want to get a vape session.
The Mighty also has a digital display coupled with buttons that gives you temperature control. The display will tell you what the precise temperature is as well as battery life.
The look of Mighty vs Pax 3 is completely different. Pax 3 is pretty much the stealthiest vaporizer out of all dry herb vaporizers. It has a minimalist design that is small enough to fit in your pocket unlike the Mighty.
The materials used on the Pax 3 are anodized aluminum which makes it quite durable.
Unlike the Might, however, there isn’t a digital display. The Pax 3 is controlled primarily through your smartphone. This includes controlling the temperature. It has different heating profiles called Dynamic Modes which regulate heat.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The Mighty is probably the easiest vaporizer to maintain. The only cleaning that is required is the oven, chamber, and cooling. A brush already comes with it which makes it stupid easy.
We recommend you clean the cooling unit and mouthpiece every few weeks. If not you can replace the whole cooling unit which isn’t expensive at all.
Even though Pax 3 has a sleek portable design, it’s probably the most annoying to maintain. The mouthpiece, oven, and inside the vape unit need to be cleaned separately. You will need a few things such as wipes and other cleaners to really maintain it. The good thing though is that it doesn’t need to be changed as often.
Longevity and Reliability
The Mighty has been around a lot longer than the Pax 3. It isn’t the most aesthetic design compared to other dry herb vaporizers but it is the most durable. The warranty on this is 2 years.
As I mentioned before the Pax 3 is made from anodized aluminum which gives it some toughness. It’s been out for a while and it’s still as good as new. Plus the warranty is 10 years which should give you peace of mind.
Battery and Charging
If you are someone who has a high weed tolerance or you’re always on the go, the Mighty has you covered. The battery comes at nearly three hours depending on the temperature you set it to. Even if it dies on you, it only takes half the time to get back to full charge. If you use a portable power bank this could last you for the entire day.
The Pax 3 lasts as long as most dry herb vaporizers which are around ninety minutes. That’s around ten minutes of back to back sessions. The charge time is around the same amount of time it takes to drain it. The battery life on Pax vs the Mighty vaporizer is unmatched in comparison.
The mighty uses a hybrid of conduction and convection heating system. This gives it amazing vapor production and quality. Talk about clouds. The flavor on this is top-notch especially if you have some good bud. Our experience on this has never felt more premium when it comes to vaping. We can confirm that the size of the mighty lives up to its expectation. The best thing about this vapor is that the flavor of your bud will stay consistent throughout your whole experience. This is huge.
The heat-up time on the Pax 3 was a bit longer than expected but once it was ready to go, the vapor quality was there. Make sure you set it to a high temperature to get the best vapor quality.
As for the flavor, it’s nowhere near as consistent as the Mighty. The Pax loses flavor, especially on the last few hits. We’ve tried all the dynamic heating profiles and it doesn’t change the vapor production that much. We’ve also noticed that by using the Pax for long periods of time the mouthpiece may start to get a little hot.
Which Is Better: Mighty Vs Pax 3?
The Pax 3 is the ultimate portable vaporizer. It’s a great device that you can carry with you everywhere. But it does require a lot of cleaning and the quality of vapor loses consistency the more you use it. However, it’s much cheaper overall and it doesn’t break the bank.
The Mighty is clearly a much better vaporizer vs Pax 3 overall but it carries at a hefty price tag. The vapor is better, the battery life is better, it requires less cleaning and it’s the most durable device on the market. The one thing that makes it inferior to Pax 3 is the design. Pax 3 is a lot smaller and it can fit in your pocket. You can’t say the same thing about the Mighty.
Conclusion of Pax 3 vs Mighty
Even though the mighty is clearly a better vaporizer, that doesn’t mean it will be best for you. The Pax 3 and Mighty are for 2 different types of people.
Buy Pax 3 if you are a beginner who wants a very good quality vaporizer that is portable and doesn’t break the bank. Also if you want a vaporizer that looks discreet but stylish at the same time.
Buy Mighty if you want the best quality vaporizer on the market that gives you clouds bigger than any other vape can. On top of that, getting the best flavor you can imagine with each hit being better than the next.

PAX 2 vs PAX 3: Which One is Right for You?
PAX‘ s innovative portable vaporization technologies allow adults to discreetly vaporize cannabis on the go. From a low-odor design to a sleek finish, PAX products are designed for a smooth and streamlined experience that doesn’t attract unwanted or unnecessary attention.
Each new generation of PAX devices brings new and refined features. PAX 2 and PAX 3 , the second and third iterations of this portable loose-leaf vaporizer, offer improvements on the devices that came before, as well as unique features that enhance and elevate the consumer’s vaping experience.
This article dives into the differences so consumers can choose the PAX product that’s best for their lifestyle.
PAX 2 vs. PAX 3: What They Have in Common
- Lip sensing technology: The vaporizers detect when it’s not in use, gradually dropping the temperature to conserve the material inside. Begin using PAX again to bring it back to temperature.
- Mouthpiece types: PAX 2 and PAX 3 come with two types of mouthpieces constructed of food-grade silicone: a flush mouthpiece and a raised mouthpiece.
- Same size: PAX 2 and PAX 3 boast the same streamlined and sleek design that puts discretion first.
- Battery life: Both vapes last approximately 90 minutes per charge, or around 6 to 8 sessions. (This can change, depending on temperature and other selected settings.)
Difference #1: Material Type
PAX 3 is the first device in the PAX Labs family to utilize both dry herb and concentrates. The PAX 3 complete kit comes with the necessary accessories to transform the oven from a loose-leaf vaporizer to one that can take concentrates. PAX 2 is only compatible with dry herb.
Difference #2: Bluetooth Connectivity and App Control
PAX 3 can pair with your smartphone, tablet, or other smart devices for total control through the PAX companion app . The app allows for precise temperature control, easy switching between dynamic modes, LED indicator light customization, device locking and unlocking, and automatic firmware updates.
PAX 2 does not have any connectivity capabilities. All portable vaporizer functions are controlled through a single button, located out of sight underneath the mouthpiece.
Difference #3: Dynamic Modes
PAX 3 includes additional settings which help the consumer optimize the vaping experience, while PAX 2 does not. These calculated presets support a variety of desired effects. Use the PAX app or the button to cycle through these dynamic modes:
- Standard Mode: Balances vapor production and flavor preservation
- Boost Mode: Increased vapor production without sacrificing preferred temperature
- Efficiency Mode: Supports consistent vapor production
- Flavor Mode: Faster heating and cooling for optimized flavor
- Stealth Mode: Maintains lower temperature and quick cooldown for discreet use
Difference #4: Temperature Settings
PAX 2 and PAX 3 support the same temperature range, from 360°F to 420°F. While the ranges are identical, the variations within are a night and day difference. PAX 2 has four predetermined temperature settings: 360°F (180°C), 380°F (193°C), 400°F (204°C), and 420°F (215°C). PAX 3 is adjustable down to the degree . Use the app to fine-tune your temperature as you wish. Scroll to the desired temperature in 1-degree or 5-degree increments.
Difference #5: Heat Up Times
PAX 3 boasts a faster heating time over PAX 2. PAX 3 goes from cold to ready in 22 seconds, while PAX 2 takes between 30 seconds and 1 minute to heat up. It’s important to note that heat-up times can vary depending on the selected temperature.
Difference #6: Charge Times
PAX 2 takes approximately 3 hours to recharge with the USB charger, and approximately 2 hours to recharge with the AC wall adapter. PAX 3’s charge time is reduced significantly, to approximately 90 minutes.
Difference #7: Notifications
PAX 2 and PAX 3 both have a four-petal LED indicator in the shape of the PAX icon located just underneath the mouthpiece. This LED indicator signals temperature setting, battery life, heating time, and more. The colors can be customized through the app on PAX 3, while PAX 2’s LED light colors cannot be changed.
PAX 3 adds haptic feedback into the mix. This means that PAX 3 vibrates when the device is ready to use and when it enters standby mode. PAX 2 does not support vibration notifications.
Difference #8: Brushed vs. Matte Finish
PAX 2 and PAX 3 share many of the same internal parts, including a surgical-grade stainless steel vapor path, an oven that holds approximately .35 grams of material, and a strong anodized aluminum shell that evenly distributes heat and protects the internal workings.
While they have the same internal build, PAX 3 and PAX 2 have a different external finish. PAX 2 has a transverse-brushed look, while PAX 3 has a smooth, matte finish. The vapes are also offered in different colors.
Difference #9: Accessories
PAX 2 and PAX 3’s “device only” kit both come with the following accessories :
- Two mouthpieces, raised and flat
- Maintenance kit with brush and pipe cleaners
- USB charger and charging dock
PAX 3’s “complete kit” comes with extra accessories for concentrates, including:
- Half-pack oven lid to decrease oven size
- Concentrates insert
- Three oven screens
- Multi-tool for packing and emptying the oven
Additional accessories for both devices can be bought online.
Summing Up PAX 3 vs PAX 2
PAX 2 and PAX 3 are both highly regarded as some of the leading loose-leaf vaporizers in the market. The newer iteration, PAX 3, offers features never before seen in the PAX family, including Bluetooth connectivity, app control, and dynamic modes. It also offers faster heat-up and charge times than its predecessor. This newer vape, however, does come at a higher price tag.
