As vaporizer technology matures year on year, enthusiasts and newcomers within the scene are presented with better and better options for their hard earned dollars. However, even with advancements that cut costs while stacking new features on the latest models, one could expect to pay $100+ for a well-made and feature rich vaporizer. Instead, Pulsar has shattered that price barrier while still serving up what is one of the most portable and easy to use vapes in recent times. At just under $70 their APX dry herb vaporizer will give even some of the more expensive top-tier vapes a run for their money. Let’s find out why.
The Pulsar APX
The APX is a portable style vaporizer housed in a discreet form-factor spanning only 4” at its maximum length. Pulsar have gone the extra mile on the exterior design of this unit by offering 10 different designs featuring one by renowned street artist Ras Terms that gives it a unique urban look. Other prints available are tie dye, wood grain, skulls, but also include blue, black, or silver colors for those who prefer something more traditional looking. Due to its small size, the APX vape can easily pass for a lighter, too, something those who prioritize stealthiness will find useful when on-the-go. The APX doesn’t just look great, either.
Your material is heated in a ceramic chamber through a combination of both conduction and convection, resulting in no burnt or uneven spots to spoil its flavor. Leftover herb removed from the device after use confirms the lack of combustion with a consistent light brown hue.
Portability Yet Capacity To Spare
Despite the portable size of the APX, Pulsar have still managed to pack in a hefty 1600mAh battery that gives around 5 full sessions and equates to approx. 20 minutes of use-time. The initial charge time recommended in the manual is 3 hours, but subsequent charges only take about half that. One downside of the battery, however, is that it’s not replaceable.
Using The Pulsar APX
Operating the APX is like most vaporizers. Unscrew the mouthpiece, then loosely pack in your herb about only half full (the chamber holds up to 0.35 gram) to aid in airflow. Replace the mouthpiece and then quickly press the power button 5 times. You can change the temperature at this point by holding the power button for 3 seconds. There are 5 preset settings ranging from 356F to 428F with the last setting being remembered next time the unit is operated. Once the Pulsar APX has reached your desired temperature you should wait another 30 seconds for the material to fully heat. This is most likely due to the convection nature of the chamber. A good starting temperature for herb is around 374F or 392F, but feel free to experiment. Draw resistance sits somewhere in the middle of the scale meaning you don’t need to inhale too strongly yet you won’t experience hot or unsavory vapor from it being pulled too quickly, either. While the temperature you set will affect your results, expect a cool, clean, and full flavored vape that belies the affordable price point of this device. If you happen to be looking for a device for concentrates instead of herbs, we recommend checking out their APX wax vape version. A full list of the available colors and designs is as follows: Skull, Tie Dye, Topo Map, LE THC Molecule, LE Ras Terms, Wood Grain, Anodized Black, Purple, Blue, or Silver.

Pulsar APX Vaporizer Review
This is the Pulsar APX portable dry herb vaporizer and it’s currently the cheapest herbal vape I recommend at only $60.
I’m actually surprised by how much of a well-rounded package it is for the price, it’s a good value if you really don’t wanna spend a lot.
The build quality is not bad at all, they did a good job of making it feel like it costs a little more than it does. It’s 4″ tall (with mouthpiece) and only a little over 1″ wide, so it’s definitely a nice compact pocket-portable that’s smaller and lighter than most others.
Battery life isn’t terrible also, and it actually has five preset heat levels which is more than most cheap portable vapes, but I’ve found it does seem to run a little hot so even on the lowest temp it’ll roast your herb pretty good (but no burning).
Check out this clip of me taking a few draws from the APX:
Borrowing my friends apx untill i can order a dynavap. I think it works fine. But. It can be harsh and mouth piece gets really hot. Plus the battery sucks in my opinion. Constantly charging when im not using it. I use it on the lowest temp first sesh. Middle settings second sesh. I wont lie, its making my .5 a day limit last me twice as long as smoking. Im glad im converting over to vapes
When I was a first time vapor, I purchased the APX for $60 and used it daily for about one year without a problem (I only needed to repacked the charger after a year), but I did clean the screens and chamber with alcohol wipes after about every three uses. It did need to be charged after three uses also. I purchased a higher quality vaporizer, but still use my APX as a backup occasionally.
I purchased this vape 2days ago as I am a beginner vapor an with that price was decent… well I am not really liking it I set it in the middle temp backed it my way ( the right way) lol so ok good to go so I thought? I get hardly any clouds mouthpiece gets fairly hot an battery doesn’t last long at all so on all that said would u plz offer some of your wisdom my way Thx☮️
seems like u packed it too tight or loose?
i dont have one but if the heat isnt being transferred to the weed then it could disperse throughout the vape itself. idk
Sorry to wake an old thread, but my sister recently gave me this vaporizer because she didn’t like it. I’m finding the same thing, I barely get any cloud when I hit it. Definitely not anything like Bud is showing when he hits it in the video.
Did you figure out why? Is how we pack it the secret or something?
Try grinding to a very fine almost powder state.
When vaping, its best to have as little cloud as possable. The cloud indicates combustion. Combustion negates the benifits of vaporizors. Dial it down a bit if you do have a cloud. You can tell by the taste if its hitting or spent.
Mine works fine
I have a new app pulsar and it will not charge! I purchased it in the U S and can not take it back so I am out $60.00 us. Not impressed!
I would call Pulsar directly. It is supposed to have a 60 day warranty from the manufacturer
Do you have the problem that makes the user turn it on twice? Mine stays on for about 20 seconds the first time, then turns off. I turn it back on, and it stays on for as long as I need.
