Pulsar APX Vaporizer Review

This is the Pulsar APX portable dry herb vaporizer and it’s currently the cheapest herbal vape I recommend at only $60.

I’m actually surprised by how much of a well-rounded package it is for the price, it’s a good value if you really don’t wanna spend a lot.

The build quality is not bad at all, they did a good job of making it feel like it costs a little more than it does. It’s 4″ tall (with mouthpiece) and only a little over 1″ wide, so it’s definitely a nice compact pocket-portable that’s smaller and lighter than most others.

Battery life isn’t terrible also, and it actually has five preset heat levels which is more than most cheap portable vapes, but I’ve found it does seem to run a little hot so even on the lowest temp it’ll roast your herb pretty good (but no burning).

Check out this clip of me taking a few draws from the APX:

Borrowing my friends apx untill i can order a dynavap. I think it works fine. But. It can be harsh and mouth piece gets really hot. Plus the battery sucks in my opinion. Constantly charging when im not using it. I use it on the lowest temp first sesh. Middle settings second sesh. I wont lie, its making my .5 a day limit last me twice as long as smoking. Im glad im converting over to vapes

When I was a first time vapor, I purchased the APX for $60 and used it daily for about one year without a problem (I only needed to repacked the charger after a year), but I did clean the screens and chamber with alcohol wipes after about every three uses. It did need to be charged after three uses also. I purchased a higher quality vaporizer, but still use my APX as a backup occasionally.

I purchased this vape 2days ago as I am a beginner vapor an with that price was decent… well I am not really liking it I set it in the middle temp backed it my way ( the right way) lol so ok good to go so I thought? I get hardly any clouds mouthpiece gets fairly hot an battery doesn’t last long at all so on all that said would u plz offer some of your wisdom my way Thx☮️

seems like u packed it too tight or loose?
i dont have one but if the heat isnt being transferred to the weed then it could disperse throughout the vape itself. idk

Sorry to wake an old thread, but my sister recently gave me this vaporizer because she didn’t like it. I’m finding the same thing, I barely get any cloud when I hit it. Definitely not anything like Bud is showing when he hits it in the video.
Did you figure out why? Is how we pack it the secret or something?

Try grinding to a very fine almost powder state.

When vaping, its best to have as little cloud as possable. The cloud indicates combustion. Combustion negates the benifits of vaporizors. Dial it down a bit if you do have a cloud. You can tell by the taste if its hitting or spent.

Mine works fine

I have a new app pulsar and it will not charge! I purchased it in the U S and can not take it back so I am out $60.00 us. Not impressed!

I would call Pulsar directly. It is supposed to have a 60 day warranty from the manufacturer

Do you have the problem that makes the user turn it on twice? Mine stays on for about 20 seconds the first time, then turns off. I turn it back on, and it stays on for as long as I need. Kinda weird.

Vaporizer Buying Guide 2020

First things first, there is no “Best Vaporizer.” But there can be the best vaporizer for a person and situation. The experience people can have with a specific vaporizer can vary from person to person, that’s because everyone values different kinds of features.

We want to mention right away; We did not test every vaporizer ourselves yet. There are simply too many, but we’re catching up vape by vape. Please read more about our ratings on our about page. We often adjust vaporizer ratings after using them more often.

Things to consider

Here are some features you should look out for, and questions you should ask yourself when choosing a vaporizer:

Build Quality & Used Materials
Some vapes feel more sturdy than others. Do you want a perfectly designed & well-built vape or is it not so important, and you rather prefer a lower price? How important is the build quality for you?

Vaporizers are made out of plastic, glass, steel, aluminum, wood and ceramic elements. And don’t worry, when a vape uses plastic for a mouthpiece it’s not necessarily bad. They are usually food-grade materials. Even the Mighty has a plastic mouthpiece and is one of the most popular vapes out there.

Battery
Do you need a big battery or are you okay with charging it daily, as you do with your smartphone? Are you often using your vape on-the-go, so a replaceable battery might be great?

Session or On-Demand Vaping
Do you prefer long sessions or a few hits at a time is all you need? Well, you need to decide this for yourself. What’s for sure is that most vapes are meant for vaping in sessions and only a few are suitable for on-demand vaping.

Temperature Controls
Some electronic vapes work with a preset of temperatures, others let you precisely adjust the temperature. Certain vapes have special kind of settings, like a smart path or boost mode.

Vapor Quality & Bowl Size
The vapor quality is something that can vary by so many factors. The strain of herbs, how moisture it is, how tightly you pack a bowl, the temperature, and many more factors. It’s hard to determine the vapor quality of a vaporizer. We usually fill the bowls full, since that’s what is recommended in general. Some vapes work better with loosely packed bowls than others.

Smartphone Apps / Yay or Nay
Some vapes come with a Smartphone app; most don’t. Apps normally give you more control of the device and make handling it more convenient. On the contrary, it can make you kind of dependent on your phone. Even though vaporizers that feature apps can typically also be used without them, but somehow it makes you feel missing out on functionality. Our experience with apps was surprisingly great so far.

Ease of use / Cleaning
Last but not less important is the simplicity or ease of use of your vaporizer. You don’t want a vape that frustrates you every time you use it. You want a vape, that you can turn on and start vaping without hassle. The cleaning process is rather important as well. Keep in mind that certain devices need more care than others.
